Today it was announced Saab would be investing over $37 million dollars in a new production facility for the engines used in T-X trainer jets being developed with Boeing. The plant will be located within the $1 billion Purdue University west campus plan. The plant is expected to eventually create over 300 new jobs in the state beginning in 2020. “Indiana has long been a national leader in manufacturing, and today’s announcement demonstrates the Hoosier state continues playing a key role in propelling the industry forward by attracting investment from around the globe,” Gov. Holcomb said in an event with Purdue, company, and area representatives. The announcement came after a week of several other significant project announcements for the district, development is continuing to gain momentum.
